William G. Solen, Jr., 51, of Cochranville, passed away suddenly from a cardiac event on Friday, March 13th under the care of Reading Hospital.  He was the beloved husband of Deborah Solen, with whom he shared 24 years of marriage.  

Born in Coatesville, Bill was the son of the Janice J. (Johnson) and the late William G. Solen, Sr.  He was a graduate of Coatesville High School and worked for Mittal Steel as a crane operator and supervisor.  

Bill was a member of the Atglen Sportsman Club and the APA Pool League and a member of the American Legion and the VFW.  He was a lifetime member of Modena Fire Co. and a five-year member of the former Atglen Fire Co.  

Bill enjoyed motorcycles, outdoor sports, model airplanes, playing pool, and making right turns.  He especially loved his family and friends.  

He is survived, in addition to his wife and mother, by his daughters, Amber Miller, wife of Ryan, Ashley Dougherty - Mcnulty, Aryel Mcnulty, and Alexis Mcnulty; grandchildren, RJ, Taylor, Brantley, Liam, and Desmond; sisters, Paula Mayo and Venessa Solen; niece, Danielle Mayo; aunt Dorothy Johnson and uncle Carl Johnson; Aunts Beatrice Smith, Sarah Searles; uncle John Smith; godmother Sara Ruth and cats, "Molly" and "Shadow."  

Due to the current quarantine situation in the United States, public funeral services and burial scheduled for Friday, March 20, 2020 have been canceled. A public memorial service will be scheduled and announced at a later date.

We are heartbroken for Deb and Bill's entire family. He was always kind and fun-loving - even when teasing Penn. Bill was a wonderful person to know and just seeing him could make you smile. He will be missed by all - from his cherished loved ones to even those who knew him only casually. Sending our heartfelt condolences.
