Raymond Edward Sheller, 85, of Coatesville, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2020, at the Harrison Senior Living Center in Coatesville. He was the beloved husband of Betty J. Townsend Sheller with whom he shared 36 years of marriage. Born in West Chester, he was the son of the late Stephen C. Sheller and Bernadine Merkel Sheller.

Ray grew up in West Chester and was a 1952 High School graduate of the St. Agnes Catholic School in West Chester. 

He was employed for many years with UPS in package delivery services. 

Ray was a life member of the First West Chester Fire Company and a founding member of the West Chester Coin Club. He was also an avid animal lover. 

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by four children; Judith Anne Sheller of Lahaina, Hawaii, Bonnie Lynn Hallman of Pottstown, PA, Raymond E. Sheller and wife Kandi of Parkesburg and Brian C. Sheller also of Parkesburg, two step-sons; Deron S. Franklin and wife Lorri of Prescott, AZ and Douglas A. Franklin and wife Kerreen of Philadelphia, 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four siblings; Stephen Sheller, Robert Sheller, Mary Rita Contento and Jacquelyn  Sheller.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at 10:30 AM at the St. Malachi Chapel, 76 St. Malachi Rd, Cochranville, PA 19330. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing at the Chapel from 9:00 AM to the time of the Mass. Interment will follow at the St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester, PA. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ray's memory to Canine Partners for Life, 334 Faggs Manor Rd, Cochranville, PA 19330.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home, Parkesburg, PA. Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com

I remember hearing Ray whistling and hearing him way before seeing the big brown truck coming down the driveway. And him coming into Turkey Hill tormenting my mom and I when we worked there. Such a nice man. Bets, you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I was saddened to hear about your husband's passing . Sharing 36 years of marriage was a blessing. I know that he appreciated you helping him when he was experiencing medical problems.
