Marvin was a very good man. He was kind, helpful and always pleasant.  A hard worker who knew many trades.  Doug Olson once said of him, " Marvin is a jack of all trades and master of them all."  He was loved by many and affectionately called Uncle Marvin. Soon we will be reunited with him in heaven.

Uncle Marvin was a Gentle Kind Soft Spoken Man. He Loved Everyone He Met and We All Loved Him. He was there to help Anyone that Needed it if He could. When I needed a ride to the vet with My very sick cat Uncle Marvin picked Me up at My house in Lionville and brought Me to West Chester and back home after the visit. He was A Gift from God A Very Wonderful Friend to have known. One Day We Will All Met Again!!!

Faithful, loving, gentle, and kind are just a few words that come to mind when I think of Uncle Marvin.  He seemed to have a special place in his heart for everyone, but as a little girl, I was sure I was his favorite! :)

Thank you for making me feel so special, Uncle Marvin.  You will always hold a fond place in my heart and bring a smile to my face when I remember you.

As a young man I joined Valley Baptist Church, and one of the first people I met was "Uncle Marvin."  Everyone called him "Uncle Marvin" and so did I from the very start.  Never really learned his last name until a few years later, but never felt a need to either because that name was most fitting for him.  He was always kind, smiling, warm, funny, and pleasant.  He loved to serve the Lord by serving at his church and the people around him.  He will be missed until we see him again in glory.

I have many fond memories of my Uncle Marvin.  My family would visit my grandparents in West Chester about once a month, usually on a Sunday afternoon.  My Uncle Marvin and Uncle Ivan were usually both there or working on some project nearby.  I remember going to my Uncle Marvin's "deer camp" in Potter County and attending a Woodsmen Carnival when I was about 12 years old.  I also remember bailing hay and loading hay bails with him in the summer for a few years, when I was in high school and college. My Uncle Marvin worked on airplane engines and was a propellor expert while in the US Air Force during W.W.II.  At home, he used those skills to repair engines of all kinds in cars, trucks and farm equipment.  He always had time to help others fix their equipment when it needed repaired or serviced.  He loved anything mechanical. I will miss talking with my Uncle Marvin and reminiscing about the times we spent together, but we will "catch up" on events one of these days, when I hopefully join him in heaven.
