It was by accident that I came upon the obituary of Frank Matchner, Jr., my Oxford High School Math teacher in 1948.  Over the years I have often thought of his quiet way of handling the class and helping me feel better about the change from a one room school to the high school in town.  Know that my prayers are with the whole family at this time.  And may God be with each one of you.  I am thankful that he will receive military honor for serving our country and preserving the freedoms we have today.  I look forward to reuniting with him in Heaven someday, not too far away.

I am sorry to hear of Mr Matchner's passing.  He was a wonderful math teacher at Oxford and influenced my decision to major in math in college followed by a long career as an analyst for the Dept of Defense.  He was a friend to my brother and fellow teacher Wayne as well.  Thank you, Mr Matchner, you made a difference.

Ruth Ann, Forgot to mention what a wonderful example you've set in supporting your Father in his waning years. He and my Mother were the same age and I've been without her since 1986.  I thankful he enjoyed such a long life and that you had the opportunity to share the time with him.
