Wilmer "Bob" R. Taylor, Sr., 95, formerly of Coatesville, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the Tel Hai Retirement Community of Honey Brook.  He was the widower of the late Charlotte Simmers Taylor with whom he shared 67 years of marriage.

Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Ralph Oscar and Alta Rhoda Wallace Taylor.  He graduated from Coatesville High School in 1941.  He honorably served our Country in the US Navy during WW II.  He served on the USS Washington Battleship and was honorably discharged in 1945.  He attended Gyrocompass school at Ames College, Ames, Iowa while in the Navy.  He worked at Lukens Steel for 38 years and retiring in 1983.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Coatesville and than he became a member of the Parkesburg Baptist Church.  He was on the Reunion Committee for the class of 1941 for Scott High School, a member of the BB55 USS Washington Battleship reunion group,  member of several Antique Motorcycle Groups and the West Chester Coin & Currency Club.

He is survived by his daughter in law, Anita W, Taylor, son in law, Frank L. Bernard and sister in law Thelma J Taylor, three grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his son, Wilmer Robert Taylor, Jr, daughter, Elizabeth Ann Bernard and 4 brothers, Winfield A., Lincoln, Paul & Charles Taylor and 2 sisters, Elsie Wingert and Dorothy Soule.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA 19365 followed by interment at the Fairview Cemetery in Coatesville. Family and friends are alos invited to attend the viewing from 10:00 - 11:00 AM.

Dear Family and friends,  How wonderful life was for me knowing the Taylor's,  growing up with Liz and having so much fun at their homes.  Heaven is richer now having Liz, Charlotte, Wilmer and Bob there.  I sincerely Love each of them and miss them all.    Love  John and Margie Shirk Wright

Dear Family,

Remembering the times when I went to the beach with Liz and her family, as well as the Wallace family reunions.  We will miss you all.  Can't wait until we are all together once again in Heaven.

I remember Mr.Tayler very well, from going to their home with their niece Kathy when I was a little girl. He was always very kind to me thoughts and prayers with the family.
