Wayne V. "Wiggy" Thomas, Jr., 81, of Parkesburg, passed away on Friday, July 10th at the Brandywine Hospital.  He was the widower of the late Lois May Thomas who passed away in 2014 after 62 years of marriage.

Born in Parkesburg, he was the son of the late Evelyn D. Thomas-Humphries and Wayne V. Thomas Sr.  He was a 1951 graduate of Parkesburg High School.  
  
He served honorably in the US Army from 1954 to 1956 as a Radar Operator.  He was a Supervisor at American Hardware / Service Star.  

He attended Penn State University and Shippensburg University, earning a degree in Business Management.  

He was an avid animal lover and Redskin fan.  He was an active civic leader, serving as vice-president of the Parkesburg Borough Council, Recreation Chairman, Streets Chairman, vice-president of the Octorara School District, Parkesburg Zoning - Hearing Board, Chairman and vice-chairman of Central Chester County Recycling Authority and Chester County Solid Waste Advistory Committee.

He was a member of the numerous community organizations including Parkesburg Lions (serving as zone chairman, region chairman and district leadership chairman), VFW, Parkesburg Library, Parkesburg Fire Co., Chaplain of Keystone Masonic Lodge #569, Anniversary Committee, Manager Parkesburg Fair Committee and Halloween Committee.

He is survived by five children: Sherry Thomas of Parkesburg, Vincent Thomas of Dundalk, MD, and Tracey Weathersbee, wife of Gene, of Lancaster, Evelyn Kammerer, wife of Donald, of Calif. and Lorraine Moskel of Coatesville; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren

He was predeceased by his son Mitchell.

The memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 15th at 7 PM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg with visitation from 6 until 7 PM.  .
