Richard L. Kimes, 80, of Coatesville, formerly of Parkesburg, passed away on Wednesday, February 4th at the Brandywine Hospital.  He was the widower of the late Anna Bailey Kimes who passed away in 2007 after they had shared nearly 51 years of marriage.

Born in Coatesville, Richard was the son of the late Eleanor (Finnefrock) and Roy C. Kimes.  He was a 1952 graduate of Scott High School.  He was employed by Beloit Eastern Foundry for 20 years as a Core Maker and most recently by the PA Turnpike for 26 years as a toll collector in Downingtown.  

Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the Phila. Eagles.  

He is survived by three children, Ricky L. Kimes, and wife Melody, of Parkesburg, Randy L. Kimes of Coatesville, Robin L. Piper, and husband Jeffrey, of Downingtown.  

A memorial service will be held for Richard on Saturday evening, February 14th at 7 PM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, PA 19365, with visitation from 6 until the time of the service.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wilde Funeral Home at the above address.

Rich was one of the best people that I ever worked with. He was always happy when we worked together at Downingtown Interchange. I think of him often and may he rest in peace.
