Mildred A. Johnson, 90,  of Kennett Square, passed away on February 14, 2018 at her home, under the care of her niece Mary Klock.

She was the widow of the late Francis Clyde Boyd who passed away in 1977 and Rev. Clyde R. Johnson who passed away in 1994. 

Born in Parkesburg, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin F and Helen Huss Wertz. 

She was employed by Pocopson Home and Chatham Acres as a human service aid.  Mildred was also a preacher.

She is survived by her children, Patrick Boyd and Glady A., wife of Larry Wertz, three grandchildren and several great grandchildren; and step-son Leonard of Kennett Square.  Also survived by a niece, Mary Klock of Kennett Square, and brother, Thomas E Wertz and wife Alice of Gap. 

Preceded in death by her son, Larry Wertz Sr.; her grandson, Larry Wertz, Jr., and her sisters, Myrtle Klock, Jean Spackman, and brothers,  Benjamin Jr. and Warren Wertz.

The graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 21st at 10 AM at Glen Run Cemetery, 641 Lantz Road, Atglen, PA with Pastor Gary Ratliff officiating.

Leonard and family... I am so sorry for your loss. Ms. Johnson was a very sweet lady! I got to know her through her insurance office. She would always come in with a smile to pay her bill. May you find peace in knowing she is in heaven now and watching over you all. God Bless!

So sorry for the loss of Millie. We knew her as Millie Boyd, the neighbor that lived down the lane. She was always so nice and never forgot a face! Our condolences from the Chandler family.
