Margaret B. Read, 96, formerly of Atglen, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017.  She was the widow of Harrison W. Read, who passed away in 1969 after they had shared 28 years of marriage.  

Born in Cardiff, New Jersey, Margaret was the daughter of the late Adela (Zapletal) and Andrew Bolf.  

She had been employed as a Financial Secretary at Penn Valley Savings and Loan.  

Margaret, a life-long Baptist, was a member of Parkesburg Baptist Church.

She is survived by her three children: H. Andrew Read, husband of Brenda, of Texas, Edward A. Read of Colombia Falls, MT, and Eileen M. Read-Saxton, wife of Keith, of Atglen, PA, four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

The Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 28 at 11 AM at the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church, 1121 Octorara Trail., Parkesburg, PA, with visitation from 10 AM until the time of the service.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers a contribution be made to the Margaret B. Read Memorial Fund for Missions at the Evangelical Development Ministry, P.O. Box 130, Muenster, Texas 76252.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Read family.  I will always remember her special desserts, especially her cream puffs.  Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her.  May your many memories, get you through this most difficult time.  She was quite the lady.
