Joyce Inez Horn, 79, of Ronks, passed away on Thursday, February 7th, 2019 under the care of St. Martha Center for Rehab and Healthcare of Downingtown.  

Born in Atglen, Joyce was the daughter of the late Maggie (Wilson) and Aubrey Poole.  She graduated in the first graduating class of Octorara High School.  

Joyce had an extensive and diverse career working for the US Government in Arlington, Va., and Washington, D.C.  Her diverse work for the US government also included her travel to Vietnam assisting in opening orphanages in Saigon during the evaluation. Joyce became an editor in Washington DC editing political books, one being for Jean Kirkpatrick who was the ambassador of the United States and became a dear friend to Joyce. She has received many awards for her diligent work, including her love for professional roller skating and modeling.

Surviving are her siblings, sisters Euna Poole Scott, Aleda Poole Laughman and brother Hanson “Sonny” Poole. Along with Nieces and nephews. And her beloved dog “Tito “

The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 15th at 11 AM at Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, with visitation from 10 AM until the time of the service.

I dearly remember for all the wonderful years we worked together on editing Demokratizatsiya and our continued relationship after that.  It was always being with her as she was so caring, conscientious and so patient.  She meant so much to the whole community of the journal.
