Condolences

John became a part of our family through all the many projects he did at our home. I always looked forward to having him here if only to talk about current activities and his work. He was always calm and never got rattled with any challenges facing him. His work ethic, honesty and quiet manner were truly unique and an inspiration as to how to live your life. He will be missed and lives on in our hearts and minds as we remember John's visits to our home and how he touched our lives. Our condolences to his wife and family. Bob and Donna Eaves

Growing up on Dogwood Dell Drive and being friends with Julie and Susan, I saw Mr. Owens frequently coming home from work. I can still picture in my mind what his work truck looked like. As I grew older and left the neighborhood, I would ocassionally come back to the home I grew up in and see Mr. Owens doing work for my step-mother at the house. What a great Carpenter he was. So sorry to hear of his passing. Hearing the name Mr. Owens' takes me back to so many memories of my childhood.

I first met John working at my parents home on numerous projects. When I bought my own fixer upper we knew who to call. We have a plaque in our kitchen with the message 'The house that John Owens rebuilt'. He turned our rundown, old but charming house into the beautiful home we have today. He was a joy to have around sharing stories of pets, camping, family and faith. We are truly saddened to hear of his passing but he more than earned his wings in this life and Heaven has gained a gentle and kind soul. He will be missed.
