Jean "Pat" Whiteside, 83, of Honey Brook, formerly of Parkesburg, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her three daughters on Wednesday, February 8th under the care of Hickory House and Holisticare Hospice.  She was the widow of Norman W. Whiteside III, who passed away in 2005 after they had shared 49 years of marriage.  

Born in Gap, Pat was the daughter of the late Margaret (Keenen) and James Scott.  

She was employed as a Record Writer Clerk for Burroughs, which became Unisys for 31 years, retiring in 1997.  

She belonged to Grace Community Church of Parkesburg.  

Pat enjoyed NASCAR, Bingo, traveling and going to the Casino.  

She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Horning, wife of Rich, of Gap, Kathy Wolff, with whom she lived in Honey Brook, and Jean Scrafford of Parkesburg; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren; and one sister, Florence Evans of Idaho.  

Pat was predeceased by two sons, Joseph and James Umble; two grandsons, Norman Horning and Randy Scrafford Jr., three brothers and four sisters.  

The Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, February 18th at 11 AM at Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in Fairview Cemetery of Coatesville.  Viewing will be from 9 until 11 AM.

I remember her kind ways while working at Burroughs/Unisys.  My condolences and sympathies to you all.  She was one of the nicest people.

I'm glad she got to enjoy her family and have a retirement!
