James "Beef" Simmers, 60, of Parkesburg, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, January 18, 2015.  

Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Evelyn M. and Pennock E. Simmers.  

An area resident his entire life, James was a 1972 graduate of the Coatesville High School.  He worked at the former Lukens Steel and he was an Iron Worker and a member of the Local 401 Union.  

He loved music, motorcycles and spending time with his family and friends.  

He is survived by his two beloved daughters: Carrianne Spaulding, wife of Eric, of Honey Brook, and Rebekah Simmers, fiance of Steven Kurtz, of Narvon; two grandchildren, William Simmers and Elysia Kurtz; and two siblings, Kenneth Simmers of Honey Brook and Barbara Robinson of Wrightsville; as well as many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Pennock Simmers Jr. and William Simmers.  

 Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 11 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St., Parkesburg, followed by interment in the Fairview Cemetery of Coatesville.  The viewing will be held from 10 until 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the James "Beef" Simmers Foundation, c/o Chester County Hospital, 701 East Marshall Street, West Chester, PA 19380.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Simmers family. Beef was and always will be a good friend of mine. I loved how he always made me laugh. He was taken to soon. To the Simmers family,  Beef is now resting in a better place.  We will miss running into him from time to time.  We have lost another fallin soldier of our motorcycle buddies.  Thoughts & prayers go out to the family.

So sorry for the lose of Beef. I grow up with Beef. Always enjoyed Beefs company. what a nice person, he'll be missed. Our thoughts and prayes are with the entire family
