Darla L. Perella, 69 of Parkesburg passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Ernest J. Perella with whom she she shared 44 years of marriage. Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late William E. and Lois Steen Broschard.

A 1964 graduate of Pittsfield, Mass. High School she returned to Coatesville in 1968. Working in retail she was employed for four years at Jamesway in Thorndale as manager of the Mens' Dept. She always spoke of the time Mikey Rooney came to Jamesway and shopped then sang songs to "his Darla". Later, she was manager of the Dollar General Store in Parkesburg for five years. Recently she was employed by the Coatesville VAMC as secretary of Case Management in Building 57 retiring in 2008. 
Raised a Methodist, she and her husband were married in 1971 at St. Cecilia's Church in Coatesville and her and her husband have continued to attended Our Lady of Consolation Church of Parkesburg.

She is survived, in addition to her husband, by one daughter; Carla, wife of Neal Hess of Parkesburg, two grandchildren; John-Thomas "JT" and Jaida Hess, whom were her pride and joy in life, and one sister Dorene, wife of Roland Leslie of Wagontown.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 11am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at the Parkesburg Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to the viewing Wednesday evening from 6-8pm and also Thursday morning from 10 to 11am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer  Society, 1626 Locust St. Philadelphia, PA 19103 or her favorite charity the Special Olympics of PA, 177 Creekside Drive, State College, PA 16801.
