Dear Wilde and Reinhart Families:

My condolences on the loss of Mrs. Wilde. She, like many others before our generation, was a Parkesburg Icon. And of course, I was very fond of husband Jim - I am sure, a loss that was very difficult for her. Please accept my sympathies at this sorrowful time.

We go through life and meet many people along the way and if we are lucky we meet someone who can inspire you, encourage you, lift you up and always have a positive look at things, Mrs. Betty was one of those people. I was truly saddened to hear of Betty’s passing, over the years as a life long resident of Parkesburg and a member of the Fire Company she knew me and my family like many others in town. I came to know her and at times was able to help her out at the Church over the years. She was one person that had a strong faith, loved her family and a very strong belief in Parkesburg. I had meet Jimmy at her house on the Tuesday before before her passing, to discuss the Fire Departments Project and her support, we sat in her kitchen talking about everything but that. She showed me pictures of her family hanging on the refrigerator, we talked about life in Parkesburg and how it used to be and what it can become, before I knew it we had talked for more then a hour. She is very proud of her family, her church and the town she called home. My prayers and sympathy to all of the Wilde’s and I want you to know I was very privileged and honored to know Mrs. Betty, she was a very special lady and will be missed.

The Fire Department is installing a fallen Firefighter monument and this is engraved on it, which Is the way I feel about Mrs. Betty,                                     ~You can Shed Tears That They Are Gone Or You Can Smile Because They Have Lived~

Please know how sad we were to learn of Betty’s passing. She was a compassionate, kind, caring, and so giving of herself to others whether it was thru her career, her love of her family, her volunteering, or just her kind words at the exact time you needed them. She always showed interest in what was going on in your day to day life and truly made you feel how much she cared. She was our neighbor since our family was just starting out in the late 60’s until we moved to Lancaster around 2000. She was the neighborhood nurse, I know many a time my mom sought her opinion when my brother or I had those bumps and bruises of growing up. She started my life in the church as a little girl, walking me to Sunday School hand in hand every Sunday until my parents joined church. For this I will be forever greatful. We have nothing but fond memories of both Betty and Jim and I can only imagine what celebrations must be going on for them to be reunited in heaven.  I know that being Wilde’s, many of you are Morticians and no doubt will be very professional and caring for all that come. Just be sure to take time for yourself to grieve your loss of your mother, nanny, aunt, most loved and feeling lost without person. Take time to take care of yourselves, just because your the professionals doesn’t also mean your the family and have the right to grieve with tears or time or in your own way.   If there is anything we can do for you, please ask, it’s our chance to give back a little bit for all that Betty has given to all of us. Blessings and love, Elissa, Ginnie, and Rob Czetli

When I think of Betty, caring for others and always smiling.  If everyone in the world could have just half of her caring heart the world would change.  Today at the service Sharon said make that an action. Be caring and teach others to care.  Betty will live on in each lesson.  Amen.  Prayers to all the Wilde Gang!!
