"AJ", Alexander Michael Balla Jr., 28, of Honey Brook, PA, passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 7, 2024, as the result of a motorcycle accident.  Born in Coatesville, PA, he was the son of Alexander Balla Sr. and Sherry (Schwoerer) Balla, and the stepson of Denise E. (Thompson) Balla.

AJ graduated from Pequea Valley High School and Lancaster County VoTech where he excelled in carpentry.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army where he specialized as a combat engineer.

AJ loved working with his hands and had an incredible imagination that he could make come to life when building things.  He loved the outdoors and riding his motorcycle.  His love for people was overwhelming. No matter where he went, he either knew someone or made a new friend, or two, by the time he left.  He was loved and will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Brye Balla, his girlfriend, Emilia Wright, step-brothers, Dylan and Luke Hanna, his nana, Ethel Balla, his mom-mom, Rachel Elsebakhy, his pop-pop, Glen Schwoerer, his grandmother, Joanne Fox-Schwoerer, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Gateway Church, 160 Cowan Road, Parkesburg, PA. The family invites all to "come as you are", no suits, ties, or colors.  Afterwards there will be a ride from the church to the family's home, 69 Risbon Road, Honey Brook, PA. for an informal gathering of food and fellowship.  In lieu of flowers, AJ would want everyone to "fill their gas tanks and take a long ride."

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Wilde Funeral Home of Parkesburg, PA. Online condolences can be posted at www.wildefuneralhome.com

Dear Balla family, it still doesn’t even seem real. Just the other week saw Aj at brass and caught a bit. I send my condolences to you and yours. While I wasn’t a big part of Aj’s life. I’ll always remember the times back in high school lunch with Aj. Always smiling and joking around. He was truly a kind soul. And good man. Thoughts and prayers. The mountain will always remember him.

It was awesome when your family came up to Havice valley to the cabin, some of my favorite memories from my pre teens were spent out in the mountains there. Chasing squirrels in the fall and trying to catch small native trout in the spring. I learned a lot from you and I hope you learned a little from me. I’ll never forget the time we ran out of worms fishing and you just started turning random logs and using whatever bugs you found as bait. You’ll be missed AJ.
