Adalyne F. Woodward, 97, formerly of Parkesburg, died on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at the Tel-Hai Retirement Community. She was the wife of the late John Y. Woodward who died in 2002. Born in Highland Township, she was the daughter of the late Jefferis W. and Sarah Elizabeth Collins Freeman. An area resident all her life, she was a member of the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church and the Russellville Grange. Adalyne also volunteered for the Red Cross blood drives and she served on the election board for Highland Township.


She is survived by one niece Martha Coblentz of Honey Brook and several great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by one brother Owen Freeman.


Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 11:00 am from the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main followed by interment at the Upper Octorara Cemetery, Parkesburg. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing from 10 to 11:00 am.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Upper Octorara Presbyterian Church, 1121 Octorara Trail, Parkesburg, PA 19365.

she was such a nice lady,we lived beside her for what seemed like ahundred yrs.she has been missed since she left the hill.

So sorry for your loss. Both Addie & John were dear friends of my parents, Harold & Jean Hartshorne, who had also attended Upper Octorara
Presbyterian Church.
