Doris Elaine Smith, of Christiana, formerly of Parkesburg, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at the Harrison House in Christiana, PA. She was the widow of the late Earl R. Smith who died in 1985. Born in Coatesville, PA she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Iowa Simmers Seiders. 

Doris was an area resident all her life and a 1948 graduate of the Parkesburg High School. 

She is survived by five children; Karen Budzik and husband George of Parkesburg, Walter Smith and wife Linda of West Caln, Virginia Groff of Lancaster, Joanne Smith of Lancaster and John Smith and wife Jennifer of York Springs, 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, one great great grandson and one sister Gloria Pluck of East Fallowfield. She was preceded in death by one daughter Gloria Smith, one granddaughter Kristina Budzik and two brothers; Irvin Seiders, Jr. and James Seiders.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 9, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA followed by interment at the Fairview Cemetery in Coatesville. Family and friends are also invited to attend the viewing Monday morning from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Doris's memory to Compassus, 2 Campus Blvd. suite 200, Newtown Square, PA 19073.

Nana was the most amazing, sweet, crazy, hard ass I've ever had the opportunity to meet. She was always up to something but always teaching the younger women that we are strong. No matter what. She was a light in this world. We will miss her. She shines in everything she touched.
