Sharon Lea Young, 62, of Oxford, passed away at the Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA after a long and courageous fight with liver disease.

She was the beloved wife of George A. Young, Sr. with whom she shared 45 years of marriage. Born in Wilmington, DE, she was the daughter of the late Louis H. Mitchell, Jr. and Sarah J. Gilbert Beaumont. 

Sharon was an area resident all her life and a 1974 graduate of the Octorara Area High School. She was employed, down through the years, by the former E.H. Keen and Son of Parkesburg, Butler's Hardware in Parkesburg and most recently as a custom designer with a local cabinet shop.

She is survived, in addition to her husband, by three children; George A. Young, Jr. of Oxford, Jason Young of Honey Brook and Daniel Young of Oxford, two grandchildren; Derick Young and Brianna Lea Young and four siblings; Carol Festerman and husband Dennis, BJ Mitchell, John Mitchell and Christopher Beaumont.

A drop in visitation for the Young family will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 between 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM at the Wilde Funeral Home, 434 Main St. Parkesburg, PA 19365.  A celebration of Sharon's life will be communicated at a future date. Memorial donations may be made in her memory directly to the Wilde Funeral Home, at the above address to help defray funeral expenses.
