Lois Eileen Castetter, 61, of Kinzers passed away at Chester County Hospital on Friday April 12, 2019. Born in Coatesville she was the daughter of the late Percy C. Trumbower, Jr. and Martha M. (Dunlap) Trumbower.

Lois was a graduate of Downingtown Area High School and went on to earn her LPN at Chester County Vocational School. From a young age Lois worked at the family owned Dunlap’s Grocery Store in Thorndale until its eventual closing in 1974. From 1970 to 1976 she served as a candy striper at the Coatesville Hospital, earning the volunteer service award for the most hours, all while maintaining strong academic achievements throughout High School.

Following the completion of her LPN, Lois held Nursing Positions for a number of years at both the Coatesville Medical Center and Brandywine Hospital, eventually ending her career at Vision Quest where she retired after 40 years of total employment in the medical field.

Lois loved cooking family holiday meals, and loved trying new recipes.  She enjoyed shopping and yardsaling, vacationing at the beach and especially spoiling her grandchildren.

Lois is survived in addition to her mother by four children; Stacy A Castetter of Gordonville, Patricia A. Castetter Auker of McVeytown, Christine A. Ortiz and husband Jose Ortiz of Mount Joy, and Richard S. Castetter Jr and wife Sansanee of Bolton, MA; 11 Grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and two siblings, Martha M. Trumbower Painter of Denver, and Leon Trumbower of Honeybrook; and nephew Zachary H. and niece Sierra N. Painter.

She was preceded in death by her brother Percy C. Trumbower III and her infant granddaughter.
