After marriage to her husband Lew Wallace MacHenry, she traveled with him to military postings in Germany, Washington D.C., and Kentucky. While traveling to these places, Louella had the opportunity to work for a number of high ranking officers in the armed forces. Condolences

ms. Lou was a lovely soul who will be missed dearly ! Words cannot express what she meant to our family ! Not only was she our neighbor , we considered her to be a grandmother figure for our son who loved her dearly ! She was one of a kind ! I know you are our guardian angel who will always look down on us ! I will miss our summer porch talks , Aj throwing ice cubes in your pool from the mint tea you made with him , smoking with Anthony and your laugh that i cannot get out of my head ! Every night I look next door hoping to see you walking out and just giving you one more hug and kiss ! We love you ms. Lou always !!!

Don and I were very lucky to have known Lou. She was both my daughters Dawn and Tracy and sons in  law Phil and Anthony’s next door neighbor who was family to them. When Don and I would visit Tracy, Anthony , and AJ. Lou would always extend her caring hospitality with a big smile and say come for coffee. Lou would always tell me how lucky she was to have them in her life and how much of a help they were to her.

We consider ourselves the lucky ones . She always looked out and took care of tracy, Anthony and AJ when we couldn’t be there as we live out of state. That was Lou, always giving of herself.

We were saddened with the news of her passing, she will always remain in our hearts . I know Lou will always be watching over her loved ones.

Rest in peace Lou, your infectious smile and laughter will be forever remembered!

Our family met Miss Lou and Her sister Miss Dot through church, we sat in church together when we would see each other. My daughter Angela would chat to the both of them and Lou would laugh and get the biggest kick out of her. We always no matter where we saw each other at stopped and spoke. May Miss Lou rest in peace, we will miss her smile.

It is strange how people touch our lives.  I met Lou when I was four.  Lou, along with Dot, Wally and Helen touched my life in one of those ways one cannot really explain.  Even though I saw her on and off throughout the last 50 years and oddly enourgh - rarely - I can honestly say, she was one of the most unique and wonderful people.  Just knowing I will not be able to 'run into her' in my travels hurts my heart more than words can express.  I am sure ten years from now I will have one of 'those memories' and think to myself how much I miss her.  Her, Dottie, Wally and Helen.

My sincerest condolences to her family.  J. Bicking

I was friends of Dottie, Helen and Henry and lived in one of Henry's apartments.  I got to know Lou through all of them and she was so sweet, funny and so much fun to be around.  Her laugh is unforgettable.  God Bless her soul.  Blessings to her family.  She will be very missed.

My mother Margaret Cramer (nee Melrath)  and her sister Jaqueline Milanese (nee Melrath) lived with Louella, Dot and their mother Helen Dawson for a few years after the passing of their mother. They became like sisters. So although Lou was my 2nd cousin she was more like an aunt to me. Myself and my family are terribly saddened by her passing. She was quite the driving force of our family. We loved her energy. She was always the life of the party. Everyone loved and will miss her hearty laugh. Always on the go like the energizer bunny! She was so stylish with her hats and glasses. Loved her family and loved to entertain. RIP Lou. I know that you are happy to be reunited in heaven with Wally, Aunt Helen, Dot and Peggy. Love you and miss you, Stephanie

Lou,

I will never forget the many times spent with me at the player piano and you, Dot and my mom dancing Plokas.  Also, the many times at your pool with Deb and the rest of us doing syncronized swimming.  And who can forget Aunt Helen's Perogies and other Polish dishes when we would come to visit?  And lastly, Harry's Hotdogs!!!  I guess the theme here is food and swimming but most importantly, it was who we were doing it with... Family!

Love you bunches!!!  Say hello to mom for me <3

Love,
Chris, Mei-Ruu, Brandon and Justin
