Sending my sincere condolences to the McCartey family and friends.

I didn't know Chew and Alice until they moved to Highland Township. They both quickly fit right in. I would see Chew almost every Thursday evening at the "Highland Township Social Club" as he dubbed it. I had know their house's previous owners, Al and Doris Cavuto, and the "Club" usually met there. Chew agreed to carry on that tradition. A friendly card game, good food, lively conversation of all types, and a few beers, usually made for an interesting evening.

Our relationship developed.  We enjoyed trips to the mountains, hunting or just getting away. A fishing trip to the Thousand Islands at Bob Nitzenberger's and the crew there,  will always be a special memory. Chew always spoke his mind and was true to his word and handshake. Our common rivalry, his Cowboys v/s my Eagles, made for quite colorful language while watching their games. But we both loved it.

Having moved away I have lost touch except for once or twice a year, but the memories of my friend will endure.

Again my heartfelt condolences, in your recent losses.

Dave
